Translucent amber pyralin hair receiver from the 1920's. Pyralin was an early celluloid and was made in Ivory and other colors but you don't see the amber nearly as much as the ivory - I have a french ivory piece in the store as well. I don't know the name for the flower pattern on the top. It is 4-1/4" wide and 2-1/4" tall with a 1" opening in the top. You can see evidence of age wear on the outside bottom of the hair receiver where it has sat on someone's vanity for many years. It is slightly dirty - I don't know much about this product and not real sure how to correctly clean it so I i'll leave it in it's as found state. There is a white ticket on the bottom and normally I would use rubbing alcohol to remove it but I am just not sure about this material and I do not want to damage the piece. I do not think there are any makers marks on under the tag so see no reason for me to fuss with it. Estate find so no history here.
