The year is 2016. Li Chang, a Chinese acrobat, is performing with his troupe in San Francisco when thieves barge on stage.Their targets are the pricele Hanlin Manuscripts and terra cotta soldier statues. Their leader is the Kuei Emperor, who plans on using these artifacts to realign the Dragon Lines, the mystical life-force of the planet, and create a New China—causing masive worldwide destruction. The Demigods, caretakers of the Dragon Lines, see this and awaken the guardian lyiing within Li Chang, transforming him into his true identity—the Monkey King. The Kuei Emperor, however, has powerful allies in the Fire Musician, Empress of Silkworms and the invulnerable Spirit-Boxer.
