Description: Postally unused, writing on back. This is a very rare and unusual postcard made by the family of "Teddy" Keefer. This little boy drowned and the family used these cards as a rememberance, and quite possibly to notify distant friends and relatives of the passing. Very sad. The back of the card is a typical postcard back. Nothing printed about the boy, but hand written is the following message: "Friend:- Received your card from St. Louis, many thanks, think its dandy. This is the picture of the little boy that drowned here about four weeks ago. He was seven years old. I suppose you read about it. They gave me some of the cards and told me to send them to my friends. Good By. Your Friend, Hazel" Condition EX, a bit dirty because of it being white. Lower left corner crease. I know nothing else about it, not where he was from, or the date. Guessing 1910's to 1920's due to looks of card on back. Guessing somewhere close to St. Louis, as writer mentions that she supposed intended recipient had read about it. Not sure. In the 10's of thousands of cards I have owned, this is the first of this type card I have come across.
