Up for sale is a set of Occupied Japan open sugar bowl and creamer. Manufactured by the Trimont China Company. A truly gorgeous hand painted set! The background is what caught our eye. It is a lovely orchid color. The first photo shows the actual orchid color. Each piece has been hand painted with orchid flowers and then trimmed in gold and raised gold. As well as the painted flower, stemming off of it is a painted gold flower. Notice the embossed curls near the rims and the squared foot that is gently scalloped. Both pieces have been painted in consecutive gold flowers spanning the interior rim. The bases , top and bottom and the handle trimmed in hold. There are no chips or fleabites. There is one tight hairline starting on the backside of the creamer, about 1" long. There is some very faint crazing just beginning. If you look at the interior of the creamer where the gold is painted you will notice some faint discoloration - this appears to have been a result of the manufacturing process as it is too neat and even. The sugar bowl measures 2 1/4" tall and is 3 5/8" in diameter. The creamer is 2 3/8" tall and 2 3/4" in diameter. Both hold 4 oz. Absolutely stunning display set.
