The following listing is for a wonderful old cast iron ashtray. The figure is a woman. At first, I thought this was the typical Victorian lady, but because of the style of clothing and hair, it may be a Geisha girl. Either way, it's a great, very well made and designed item! The front features a perfectly delicate, graceful woman holding a parasol and bowing. When you turn it over, of course, there you see her bare bottom exposed, with the frilly edges of her petticoat showing! This piece has incredible detail, front and back. It's in a very old black paint, which may be original. The back has traces of paint also. It's in very good condition, having only a few little flaws on the back. These may have occurred in the making. If you'd like to see close ups of the areas, please email me and I'll be happy to send them to you. This piece has a light coating of mineral oil, which could simply be washed off if you prefer a drier look. Her bum had some rusting, which the mineral oil has all but eliminated, although it was not that bad to begin with. This little beauty measures approximately 5" by 4 3/4". This is from a private collection, and is guaranteed not to be a reproduction.
