100+ Quillquina seeds fresh from my garden to yours. Quillquina is also called Bolivian Coriander, Killi, and Papalo or Papaloquelite, sometimes spelled Quilquina. This is an annual herb.
Pretty, Easy to Grow, and Tasty! It has beautiful gray green leaves with a tad of purple around the stem. Quillquina looks nice in the back of a border- as it gets rather tall. But keep it within reach. Very drought tolerant -so you won't need to waste water on it- and I have never had trouble with pests of any kind- nothing seems to bother it.
This yummy herb is always used fresh and it goes perfectly with hot peppers. I have never seen a reference to it being used cooked, dried, or even frozen. It has a strong flavor that doesn't overpower the peppers, but makes them taste even better. Hard to explain. I like it on black beans with chopped rocotos. It is supposed to be good for your blood pressure, but I really don't know anything about that. But, if you are out gardening, and eating quillquina on your fresh peppers and tomatoes (and turning your beautiful compost), you are bound to be healthier for it!
I'll be the first to admit that Quillquina has a strong flavor- but it's sort of an addictive one. I've grown it for over 5 years, I can't wait until the beginning of summer for the first Quillquina to come up. My husband only started liking it last year, and then spent the winter and spring pining for it. My youngest daughter grazed on the stuff last year!
We garden using organic practices only, but cannot be certified organic because we are only a small family garden and only offer a handful of home grown seeds per year. Heck, we don't even own a tiller. Each packet is hand planted, cultivated, picked, sorted, and packaged here by us for you. Planting information included- and I'm always available to answer any questions you might have along the way.
Harvested Summer and Fall 2007.
