This is a vintage, advertising bottle opener. The reason's I suspect it is pre-1930's are: **The telephone number given on the opener is a four digit number. Research indicates that letter prefixes were not added to phone numbers until sometime in the 1920's. **The opener advertises "Frozen Food Supplies". Frozen foods were invented by Clarence Birdseye in 1923. Now, to the particulars: This bottle opener measures just over 4" in length. The handle is an ivory colored plastic, the opener end is metal. It is labeled: (red lettering) SMITH BROTHERS HARDWARE CO., INC (blue lettering) Frozen Food Supplies Glass - "Cochran" Paints Housewares 817 Main St. Phone 7412 Niagara Falls, N.Y. The patina is shiny, the lettering clear and the metal opener end is tightly held in the handle. The metal, however, does have some spots surface rust. A great, collectible item! Postage of $3.00. ****************************************************************************** Items are obtained from many sources. I try to describe items fully, but I'm not an expert.
