We have decorated our horse shoes with care so they will blend with many decors, and would be a focal point on any wall. What a great little gift this would be for any nurse or special care giver. We started with a used horseshoe straight from the farrier, cleaned it up, and painted it red (front and back). We added a red leather hanging strap and decorated the horseshoe with "nursing" stickers. There is a medical chart with pencil, two bandaids, a bottle of cough syrup, a medical bag, and a nurses uniform complete with cap. The main colors are red, white, and black. The horseshoe measures apprx 4.75" x 5.25" and weighs apprx 10 oz.. It hangs flat against the wall, about 7.5" from the tip of the leather strap to the bottom of the medical bag.
