Welcome to Coelacanth Books. We are bona fide “bibliomaniacs,” committed to providing you with the personal attention book lovers deserve. Each of our partners has 20+ years experience with antiquarian books; we have been selling online since 1999. You can find our books listed here (please click on a category at left for detailed descriptions). We also list on Biblio.com.
Our inventory is small & selective; every book is carefully evaluated in terms of interest and condition. We grade books conservatively based on Independent Online Bookseller Association standards and verify first editions using accepted trade references.
Our listings are detailed so that you will always know exactly what to expect and can fully evaluate whether a book meets your needs and interests. We care about “why” books are important, and so try to provide a sense of context as well as condition descriptions.

Miscellaneous details
Payment: Paypal, Google Checkout, checks/money orders drawn in US funds and US cash. Payment must clear prior to shipping.
Shipping: We generally ship via USPS media mail, with delivery confirmation and third-party insurance. All books are meticulously packaged and shipped in well-padded boxes.
Returns: We are happy to accept returns within two weeks if a book is not as described. Books must be returned in “as shipped” condition. Please contact us in advance to receive full return instructions. We refund all costs for returns.
International buyers: We will sell all books internationally. We can invoice you for a book through Google or Paypal or provide you with other options (until Bonanzle is set up to accept int’l business).
